We’re looking for an experienced and strategic leader for the role of Head of Artificial Intelligence, Financial Services & Insurance. This person will be responsible for developing and implementing AI technologies in the financial services and insurance sectors. It’s a great opportunity to lead complex tech projects, shape strategy, and align with the company’s goals, all while supporting the growth of teams and maintaining high standards in the field of artificial intelligence.

Responsibilities:
AI Technology Strategy for Financial Services & Insurance (FS&I) Business Domain

  • Develop and maintain the AI technology strategy that enhances specialized AI knowledge, supporting key business domains within the FS&I business unit
  • Ensure this strategy aligns with the company and business unit go-to-market plan
  • Ensure engineers’ specific technology expertise relevant to key business domains is mapped and easily searchable
  • Support implementation of learning mechanisms to ensure continuous knowledge growth in these specific areas 
  • Proactively identify common challenges in key business domains and document effective technology solutions. Maintain this knowledge in company repositories for easy access and use 

Presales Support

  • Collaborate with Client Partners (CPs) and Engineering and Delivery (E&D) leaders to support presales activities that includes AI
  • Lead the AI technical aspects during presales and sales processes
  • Actively assist in presenting and delivering top-tier engineering services, such as Tech Discovery, AI & Data Offerings, System Design Phase, and Tech Due Diligence
  • Ensure sufficient company resources are allocated for detailed presentations when needed

Supports E&D leaders at the start of projects by

  • Identifying key technology risks and supporting tech risk management
  • Advising on the best project staffing by selecting AI engineers with the appropriate technology expertise
  • Presenting AI technology trade-offs, risks, and new capabilities to clients

Project Technology Quality Monitoring

  • Ensure that a robust technology quality management process is in place for all projects within the business unit. This includes setting adequate project tech authorities, supporting tech quality reporting and continuously working on mitigating technical debt
  • Oversee the regular execution of project audits for all projects that are of the highest business significance or carry the highest technology risk

Education

  • Oversees, consults, and supports planning and organization of learning events for FS&I business unit engineers, e.g., IT conferences, workshops, internal tech development programs, etc.
  • Oversees, consults and supports organization of experience sharing events
  • Oversees and supports the process of personal development plan creation for AI team members in the FS&I business unit

AI Team in the FS&I business unit

  • Enables and educates delivery leaders and technology leaders to support technology career growth of AI engineers within business unit
  • Oversees, manages and promotes members of the FS&I BU AI Team - introduces new members and helps the existing members progress toward more responsible roles in tight coordination with Engineering and Development (E&D) leaders and Tech Excellence Office (TEO) 
  • Create an AI Governance Framework within the FS&I BU. A structured set of rules and policies ensuring AI is used ethically, securely, and efficiently. This work is to be delivered in sync with TEO. This will include: Who owns AI models and data, Guidelines for AI compliance (GDPR, UAE data laws), Best practices for responsible AI usage and risk management, What AI tools and technologies to explore deeper within the FS&I AI Team

Alignment with HTEC’s AI strategy

  • Synchronizes with TEO and actively participates in AI strategy standards and procedures establishment
  • Ensures that AI strategy defined at the company level by TEO is applied within the business unit
  • Facilitates the information flow between TEO and FS&I business unit, in both directions

Responsibilities in the Hiring process

  • Accountable for technical interview process on the FS&I business unit level, implementing processes, organizing the tech interviews network and aligning with the HTEC global hiring process
  • Supports Talent Acquisition and Hiring Managers during the staffing/hiring process on the FS&I BU level
  • Perform other tasks assigned by Direct Manager


Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree or higher in a technical field
  • Over 12 years of professional experience in technical roles
  • At least 3 years of proven leadership experience as a Tech Lead or Senior Tech Lead
